Direct selling for the next generation

People close to me know that Robert and Kim Kiyosaki have been two of my first mentors. Robert with his classic “Rich Dad Poor Dad” makes you questioning the 12 years you have spent at school, strategically prepared to be wrapped up and put in a box and stay there till the end of your life. Kim Kiyosaki is the author of the bestseller “Rich Woman“. Love that book, because financial education for women has been far too long neglected in the last century.

Robert has written plenty more books in the mean time, and I believe it is very important that he shares his knowledge in different ways. So, what has Robert now to do with Direct Selling? Not much, really. I just wanted to share his answer with you, that he replied to the question “Why do you recommend Network Marketing?” (I am assuming that everyone knows about Robert’s Cashflow Quadrant, otherwise you better get his book I have mentioned above.)

What if you’re in the E or S quadrant and you want to change? What if you want to be in the B quadrant? Where do you find the education that trains you for that quadrant? I recommend a network-marketing business. I recommend the industry for people who want to change and get the necessary skills and attitude training to be successful in the B quadrant. (taken from the book ‘Why we want you to be rich’ – Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki)

Direct selling is the best place where you can overcome self-doubt, shyness and fear of rejection (aka objection handling).

Help everyone to be on the top level

But why for the next generation? I believe Robert, Kim and many others have helped in the last decade to give Network Marketing a new momentum. The reputation has changed from housewife-business to a serious global business opportunity. Amway, the mother of all MLM companies, has paved the way for us and has given us the opportunity to ride this wave. Direct selling is a simple business, but it is not easy. (If it was easy, everyone would do it.) Thousands of companies are offering now the MLM business model, good and bad ones. It is your due diligence to research the companies and find the right one for you.

I also like Robert’s answer to the common objection whether Network Marketing is not a pyramic scheme.

Normal People Pyramid
Where are you in your company?

My reply is that corporations are really pyramid schemes. A corporation has only one person at the top, generally the CEO, and everyone else is below. […] A network-marketing business is designed to bring you up to the top, not keep you down at the bottom. A true network-marketing business does not succeed unless it brings people up to the top.

Just imagine, you and your friends working together and not against each other, reaching the goal as a team. That’s doing next-generation-business.
