Plan B

download (15)It’s good to have plans, goals and dreams. But don’t expect it to be a smooth ride. Plan A is there to fail, so always have a plan B. What if there is no hope for plan B either? don’t you worry, the alphabet has still 24 more letters to label your various plans. ( and the Russian alphabet has even a couple more letters 🙂 )
Goals are there to be achieved. There are many ways to go from A to B. Obstacles will come your way, either put in there by yourself or by others. And sometime it seems you are going backwards. It’s ok to have your down time. But getting back up and undistinguished yourself and moving on is sometimes the distinction between success and failure.
Easy to write about it, but I find it hard to even implement it in my life. It seems a permanent struggle. Just a single smile from my boy in the morning can make my day. Everything I do I do for myself and my family.
I said it many times, only when you are happy you can share the happiness with your family. Do what you love to do, and work won’t feel like work anymore.

Apropo work, I’m almost there.

Love my boys!

Peace out!

new start

Another year is gone and what kind of journey it has been. I am just saying that because actually nothing I had planned for 2013 actually became true. Why? I don’t know. Things happen for a reason. You meet new people for a reason, you burn bridges for a reason.

Do I make plans now for 2014? Yes, sure, I have some ideas what I would like to achieve this year, but I have different expectations.

One of the plans I have is to turn my passion for fitness and health into a money-making activity. When I love what I do, then it’s just not a job anymore, right? I just finished my Cert III for Fitness in Australia and I am officially now allowed to instruct people. Personally I want to get back into my old fitness state. That will be quite a challenge as the options here in Fiji are just not the same as back in Brisbane, especially when it comes to food. It looks like I might have to start my own little garden just to have some herbs available throughout the year. The goal is to eat healthy myself and then show others that there are options to eat healthy and hopefully open their minds to healthy eating behaviour! But there is so much more to that.

First I need to walk my own talk … so back to the street to run and back on with the boxing gloves. And watch out for these injuries!!! I better leave them with the old year … that means behind me 😉

I quickly want to share this video. First of all I have to admit I thought Kiwi’s (people of New Zealand) were called Kiwi’s because of the fruit Kiwi … but I got taught better 🙂 Secondly I want to share this small animation with you, because it shows in a nice way that you can achieve anything, just put your mind into it, go and get it … even when it is the last thing you do, as long as it feels right for you and you don’t hurt anyone.

Visualise the life how you want it

I just want to live, to learn, to grow, to share, to give, to serve. For this I have to be fit in all seven areas of life. In no particular order, these would be:

  • spiritual
  • mental
  • vocational
  • financial
  • familial
  • social and
  • physical

That’s life, the journey through these areas. At different stages in life we have different priorities. But this journey should have a purpose. What do you want to learn? In what area do you want to improve and grow? What do you want to share or give? Who do you want to serve?

Look back, what did you learn so far? What are you good at and did you share it? All these brought you to the situation you are in right now. Are you on track to reach your goal? Are you fulfilling your purpose? And the main question is, does it make you feel good?

No one can answer those questions for you, and no one should.

Personally, I’m at a state where I need to refocus my life a bit. The search for my purpose in life seems endless. Obstacles thrown at me keep me distracted, busy, worried and aimless. I really need to take charge of my life if I want to live in freedom.

Freedom, such an important undervalued and ignored basic human need. A lot of us didn’t need to fight for something in life yet. Everything has been given to them, either by parents or by the government. But this comes with a cost, a huge one … Lack of taking responsibility, lack of awareness and self-control.

So, I will put down my thoughts about my purpose, vision and mission in life. I might throw out just some words right now. The right wording will come over time. This will keep me accountable. I will definitely refine my purpose along the journey, as I will grow as planned.

Vision:
Healthy, fit, body awareness, nature, simple, boxing

Mission:
Live by example, giving basic knowledge to make them curious, back to nature,

Purpose:
Simplistic, back to nature,

Myself, I’m a great example of someone who is not clear about her goal or purpose in life. I am struggling to put these things in words. Therefore, let’s refocus on the journey through life. Let’s look at the seven areas of life. Capture the things that make me happy

Ok, I added this the next day.

I want to be healthy and fit and I want be really good in boxing. I also want to enjoy hiphop dancing, as I then can express my tomboy in me. I want to have a big happy family. If I can share everything I have learnt, that would be great. There is much more to it though.

The plan is to share my journey, tips and tricks on this side. It might be confusing from time to time … But I prefer to be everyday a different day than boring routine.

… To be continued

Lifting higher

… and I don’t mean it in the fitness way today 😀

Surround yourself with people who are only lifting you higher. It is the environment that shapes you, also known as peer pressure or even tradition. So watch out with who you hang out with.

We can’t chose our family, but we can chose our friends. It is a tough topic to write about and I guess I will just scratch the surface again. My thoughts are a bit all over the place at the moment, but I hope you get the point.
I also think it is more about being aware of how much you are vulnerable to what other people say and think about you. You have your goals. Look at them daily and make a short list of things you need to get done today, little action steps that move you forward, closer to your goal. In the evening, review your day. Can you see how people and people’s talk can distract and influence you? Unfortunately most of it goes in the opposite direction.

Then it is time to ask yourself, how much do you want that goal. What would you do to reach that goal? Would you let go of some so called “friends”? Can you give up some time in front of the TV? You will tell me, “but I have to relax”. Sure, but wouldn’t it be better to watch what you want and not what the media tells you to watch? Watch some motivational stuff, some movies you haven’t seen for a while?

Time is precious and you can’t get it back. So please don’t waste it. Relax in the right way, work in the right way … don’t lose your dreams just because you are pleasing others.

I have to make some tough decisions in the next days and weeks, so I am putting my goals down in the written form and in form of pictures. I will write about it in my blog, so I am staying more accountable. There will be bad and good days … but I want it badly.

Some of you know that I am not a big people’s person and my current job is not helping in having the right people around me. Therefore, I will focus on having the right people around me before and after work. If there is a problem, there is a solution … there is always a way around it. Go and get your goal, you deserve it.
